How to find the area of a triangle

Area is finding how large the surface is inside the shape .To calculate the area of a triangle, you use this formula- 'half the base times the perpendicular height' it is also written like this:½ × b × h
b = base
h = vertical height
For example the triangle on the left has the base length of 16 Cm and the height of 22 cm , to calculate the area we divide the base length, 16 by 2 which equals 8
Next we multiply 22 and 8 that gives us 176 cm squared
Try a few...
1)base=28 height=46
To work out question 1, we need to divide 28 (base) by 2 that gives us 14.
Then 14 multiplied by 46(height) that equals 644
Therefore the area of triangle is 644 cm squared
